Rave City Riverfront is a course first introduced in Ridge Racer 6. It returns in Ridge Racer 7, Ridge Racer 3D, and Ridge Racer Slipstream.

Course information[]

Rave City Riverfront features long straightaways, tight curves, a variety of undulations and some large jumps. In this course, there is a shortcut that the player can reach using a combination of fast car and a good amount of boost (this trick is blocked off in 3D and Slipstream). In reverse, the road covering the shortcut is completely blocked off, making the jump impossible. Going the wrong way in reverse just pulls the player down when attempting the jump.

Trivia[]

  • Rave City Riverfront is one of only two courses in the entire Ridge Racer series that feature an alternate shortcut, the other being Rave Racer's Mountain course.
  • It is also one of only three courses in the Ridge Racer series that are longer than 7 kilometers, the other two being Crossbay Tunnel and Bayside Line.
  • There is a bug in Ridge Racer 7 where swaying the car towards the end of the shortcut would cause it to violently pull the player's towards the wall, causing them to slow down dramatically.
  • Another bug also exists where if you knock a rival into the shortcut jump lane when they aren't on it, they'll get stuck to the wall as soon as they land until the normal route and the shortcut route merge.
  • There are metal strips on the road that come periodically on the track , such as the the one at the start of the second bridge. These strips provide pointers for drivers when to trigger the nitrous to get the best ultimate charge from the corner after. This only works for Category 1 machines. Some of these strips are suited to cars with Hi, Long or Normal nitrous and drivers should know which strip goes for which nitrous. Furthermore, some strips are best used when triggering double or triple nitrous.

This will be very useful when trying to beat the Monstrous.
  • Images for the track were used in the game's trailer to simulate the Watch Lobby feature, using layout of the scrapped Cosmic Terminal course.
  • It was said in a Ridge State news ticker that people didn't want the bridge to be finished because they liked the bridge jump.
