"The new RC410 machine was made to commemorate KAMATA's Grand Prix victory. Even though the expensive 2-door design is the only available model, KAMATA has received numerous orders, Due to this unexpected demand, buyers waited up to a year for delivery of their new machine. This sport coupe was high up in the monthly car sales ranking and became a surprise hit. With its aggressive exterior design and a new 4-liter V6 turbo engine, it is easy to handle and incredibly fast. With all this power, the RC410 has the potential to win consecutive Grand Prix!"
Ridge Racer 7

The Kamata RC410 is a supercar manufactured by Kamata, debuting in Ridge Racer 7 as the game's "hero" car, as being the followed by the camera in the first trailer and the game's cover car. It also appears in Ridge Racer 3D and as a timed pre-order bonus in Ridge Racer Unbounded, as a DLC for Ridge Racer Vita, along with a special THE IDOLM@STER edition later on in Asian regions (the latter also appears in Drift Spirits).

Design[]

The RC410 draws mainly from the then still-concept Nissan GT-R (R35), whose prototype version had been shown at the 2005 Tokyo Motor Show and launched the year after the release of Ridge Racer 7 (another early-year PlayStation 3 game, Gran Turismo 5 Prologue, had it's Japanese demo version built around the car's launch at 2007 Tokyo Motor Show). It also shares some mechanical similarities with this car as well, being powered by a turbocharged V6 engine.

The "hero" version, as seen on Ridge Racer 7's game cover, is fitted with a rear bumper, spoiler, side skirts, and hood from Arkbird, but with a Dig Dug front bumper and splitter. It also has Astaroth tires fitted. This body kit also makes the RC410 resemble that of modern GT cars, mainly the FIA GT1/GT3 version of the GT-R, although these would not begin competition in real life until at least 2010. The car has an F/A Racing livery. This version would be used as a standard design for "Complete Machine" spec versions.

The RC410 is not always monotonous in terms of looks, however. In Ridge Racer 7, like all normal machines, the RC410 can be customized to the driver's personalized tastes with several exterior parts.

Kamata originally did not expect high sales for the RC410, as it was a model designed to commemorate Kamata's Ridge World Grand Prix victory (indicating that they, canonically, were the winners of Ridge Racer 6). However, orders started pouring in and the waiting list increased to one year. The RC410 represents a new, successful direction for brand. The car is powered by a turbocharged 4 liter V6 engine (although in the Vita game, the engine was upgraded to a V8 one) and sports a 7-speed paddle-shift transmission.

The Kamata SYNCi is possibly the car's successor, although it appeared together in the Vita game, possibly with the RC410 taking the late/outgoing model status.

Performance[]

Ridge Racer 7[]

The RC410 makes its debut in Ridge Racer 7. Performance wise, it has decent acceleration, top speed and handling but slightly hampered by its bad inertial drift and nitrous performance. It has decent Ultimate Charge rates if it's equipped with Bosconian Mild +2 or Mild +3 tyres and Galaxian Normal Charge U nitrous.

Trivia[]

  • In the trailer for Ridge Racer Unbounded, the Kamata shown in the video has lesser decals and detail, especially inside the car.
  • The RC410's name suggests it is powered by a 4.1 litre engine.
  • The RC410 made a cameo in Ace Driver 3: Final Turn on one of the racing circuit's TV screen.

  • In Ridge Racer Vita, the RC410 switched from a turbocharged V6 to a naturally aspirated V8. This is a reference to the fact that in real life, the Nissan GT-R ;s racing versions in the GT1 and GT500 class had its original V6 engine replaced by a V8, to adapt to the categories regulations.
  • This is the second car in the series to use a carbon fibre hood by default. The first car with a carbon fibre hood in the series was Terrazi Decision in Type 4.

The car made its reappearance as a DLC machine in Ridge Racer Vita and Unbounded. In Unbounded, despite having its own make and model, the game refers to the car as simply Ridge Racer 7 instead, due to the fact that it first appeared in 7.
  • In Ridge Racer Unbounded and on the USA box art of Ridge Racer 7, the machine is shown as a left-hand drive car, however in Ridge Racer 7 itself, the car is right-hand drive due to being a Japanese car.
    • This may imply a US-spec, or overseas market model for the car.
  • As the RC410 was stated to be a special model commemorating Kamata's Ridge World Grand Prix victory (the 2005 Ridge Universe championship), this would potentially mean that in the Ridge Racer storyline, Kamata are the constructors' champions of Ridge Racer 6, with the Angelus likely being the winning car of that year.
  • The announcer in Ridge Racer 7 pronounces the name of this car as "R-C-four-one-oh".
  • The RC410 is featured in Drift Spirits in December 2020's Ridge Racer themed special events, along with Lucky & Wild Evolver and Age Elenie.
  • In Ridge Racer 3D, its race car form features a Racing Team Solvalou livery as one of its available liveries.
  • In real life, the 2001 Nissan GT-R Concept was equipped with a 7-speed CVT transmission. Although the production GT-R was equipped with a 6-speed paddle shift transmission, the RC410 inherited the same number of gears as the concept version of the GT-R.
  • If looked closely at the car in the Machine Connector in RR7, It is possible to notice that there are cameras instead of mirrors in the rear view mirrors. However, this is only present on the original Kamata side skirts.
  • As the RC410 is seen in Ridge Racer 7's ending movie and demo replay in Seaside Route 765, it can be assumed that the RC410 is the championship-winning car of the Ridge State Grand Prix, with Kamata defending their title.
    • As such, the RC410 depicted in the game cover and promotional material is a Category 1 machine.
