Union Hill District is a course first introduced in Rage Racer under the name Over Pass City. It returns in Ridge Racers, Ridge Racers 2, and Ridge Racer 3D.
Course information[]
Union Hill District is the second course introduced to players in Rage Racer and is the longest course in the game. Featuring numerous elevation changes and sharp blind corners, the course boasts a significant increase in difficulty from Mythical Coast. Notable in this course is the long uphill straightaway after exiting the three-way tunnel, the tricky S-curve halfway through the course that will take much practice to master especially with higher grade cars, and the small loop in the second half of the course with its hairpin corner that may make or break a player's race.
Errors[]
- In Ridge Racers 2 and Ridge Racer 3D, an error exists between Union Hill District and Mythical Coast where there exists a piece of road that does not match up between the two courses, despite this portion of the map supposedly being shared by both courses.
- As shown in the screenshots, Union Hill District R features only one road leading to its second tunnel. However, Mythical Coast R features a split in the road which replaces the rock formation on the left. It also replaces the open ocean to the right in Union Hill District R with another rock formation.
- This error can be seen much more prominently in Ridge Racer 3D, where the minimap on the bottom screen can be zoomed in. Since the zoomed-in minimap shows the positions of the two courses relative to each other (that is, showing where they overlap), it is very easy to see where this error occurs.
- This may be a developer oversight, as Ridge Racers does not include Mythical Coast, which would not have necessitated the inclusion of the Mythical Coast road split in Union Hill District.
- Even outside of the above error, if one closely examines the geography of the courses and cross-references this with their relative positions on the map, there does not seem to be a logical way for these two courses, as well as Lakeside Parkway, to coexist with each other.
