Crystal Coast Highway is a course first introduced in Ridge Racer Revolution as its Intermediate course. It returns in Ridge Racer 64 (under the name Revolution Intermediate), Ridge Racers, and Ridge Racers 2.
Course information[]
Crystal Coast Highway takes players along a different route from Sunset Drive, full of short and sometimes sharp corners which make overtaking opponents difficult. The roads are usually wide enough to overtake on, but still pose a challenge compared to overtaking along straightaways. The narrow high-speed chicane toward the end of the last tunnel also makes overtaking opponents difficult.
Setting[]
In all of its incarnations except for Ridge Racer 64, Crystal Coast Highway is set within a commercial city area, which then transitions into a rocky cliffside next to open ocean.
Ridge Racer 64 features a drastic change in setting for the Revolution courses, as it situates them in the "scenic Northwest"[1], featuring mountains, forests, and waterfalls.
Errors[]
- Considering the geography of the RRR courses, these three courses cannot possibly coexist with each other, as the mountains present in this course would clash with the beach in Sunset Drive.
