"The new maker Luck & Wild's classic muscle machine, the Eruption Type-S. Good for drivers who like showy Dynamic drifting and out-of-this-world acceleration." ~Ridge Racer 3D description.

The Lucky & Wild Eruption is an American muscle car that appears in Ridge Racer 3D.

The styling cues are inspired by domestic muscle cars of the 70s and 80s, however it doesn't resemble any specific real life vehicle. It is highly likely that it is powered by a V8 as expected from a muscle car, and features Dynamic-style handling. In it's Category 2 and Category 1 variants, the machine gains a complete makeover that resembles the design of a stock-car.

Descriptions[]

The following descriptions are taken from viewing the machine in the Garage in Ridge Racer 3D.

Category 4[]

"The new maker Luck & Wild's classic muscle machine, the Eruption Type-S. Good for drivers who like showy Dynamic drifting and out-of-this-world acceleration."

Category 3[]

"The fully-tuned Eruption Type-EX for category-3 racing. It still has its unique exterior, but has been majorly revamped from its category-4 counterpart.

Category 2[]

"The fully tuned Eruption Type-S for category-2 racing. The revamp on its exterior model has left it lighter and more powerful.

Category 1[]

The Eruption Type-EX has been upgraded to the extreme for category-1 racing. It raises the bar in terms of overall features, which requires expert handling to fully master.

Performance[]

It first appears as a Category 4 vehicle, where it boasts mid-range performance. It is described as having showy drifting, but the machine is relatively sluggish in corners, a downside which only worsens more with each Category increase. It requires more brakework than most vehicles to initiate a drift, only beaten by the Hi-Night in this regard. It compensates for this with it's acceleration and above-average top speed, where it once again is only beaten by the Hi-Night for this in Category 4. Due to it's horrible cornering and top speed being outclassed by sports cars like the Assoluto Fatalita, this machine is unfortunately a poor choice for any events beyond Category 3.

Trivia[]

  • Including the manufacturer name, this car has the longest name out of any car in the series (not including titles prior to the introduction of vehicle manufacturers).
  • This is one of three cars in the franchise to feature exterior styling and performance reminiscent of stock-car racing, The other two being the Lizard Hijack and Lizard Acceron.
  • This is the only Standard Lucky & Wild machine to not appear in a subsequent title. The Wisdom and Evolver would both go on to appear in Ridge Racer Vita, and would both appear in Drift Spirits as a collaboration, while the Eruption never appeared outside of Ridge Racer 3D. This would be shared with the brand's Monster machine, the Mad Bull.
