The Âge Prophétie (pronounced: "prophecy") is Âge's luxury sports coupe. As Âge's customers are starting to age (no pun intended), Âge's cars have become more luxurious. However, in it's racing-spec form, the Prophétie is still as viciously fast as ever. The car is also quite stable.

The Prophétie is Âge's starting car in Ridge Racer Type 4, which was under the name Âge Solo.

In Ridge Racer Type 4, the Prophétie resembles a Tommykaira ZZ-S with a Porsche Boxster (986) rear end, while in Ridge Racers, Ridge Racers 2 and Ridge Racer 3D, it resembles a either a 1999-2003 Honda S2000 (AP1) or 1996-2000 Dodge Viper GTS with a rear end that greatly resembles the 2001 Nissan Z Concept. In Ridge Racer 6 and Ridge Racer 7, it resembles either a 2004-2009 Honda S2000 (AP2), Dodge Viper SRT-10 or TVR Cerbera.

Ridge Racer Type 4[]

In Ridge Racer Type 4, the Prophétie is depicted to have similar sizes to the Assoluto Promessa, yet the Prophétie's considerably lighter, which compensated its lack of power compared to its Stage 1 stablemates. Power comes courtesy of a 2.0 liter double overhead cam inline-4.

The following is a translated transcription of the car featured in the Japanese Ridge Racer Type 4 - Namco Official Guide Book R4:

Fashionable French sports car with spirit.

The qualifying entry machine for Âge Solo, a leading French car maker, is the Prophétie. A genius driver born in France, professor Loran Biranque was involved in the development, so the simple and elegant body that shows this name is loaded with 2 liters of direct 4 cylinder DOHC, and it is a fun place to be a surprising messenger. In addition, the specs are at the level of a commercial car in the first qualifying, but if it comes to the final GP race with repeated tune-ups, the speed will be over 280km/h and the transmission will be incorporated up to the 6th gear. At this point, it's like a wolf covered in sheep's skin. From the qualifying to the final, you would like to keep in mind the subvision of its grip, just like with other Âge Solo cars.

The Ridge Racers iteration of the Prophétie now feature a more modern profile, as well as increased size and the classification of a luxury sports car. It also features a turbocharged engine in the front that was co-developed with Kamata. Being a Mild-type car means that it has smooth and easy to control slides.

Ridge Racer 6 and 7[]

""The Prophétie was the machine that started the luxury compact boom. Its glamorous body and low center of gravity are the secrets to its success. The combination of Âge's newest technology and traditional craftsmanship have created a beautiful, classic style that no automated production line could ever recreate.""
Ridge Racer 7

The Ridge Racer 6 and Ridge Racer 7 iteration of the Prophétie now feature a model change, signified by the new headlights, new rear end, and new bumpers, with no change in the engine and transmission department.

Ridge Racer 6's Prophétie has a Mild drift type, which doesn't slide as much as Standard or Dynamic drift types, but compensated with high inertial drift rate, thus increasing the car's normal charge rate. Compared to the Kamata Fiera, it has slightly worse acceleration.

In Ridge Racer 7, the Prophétie excels in three aspects: nitrous performance, handling and inertial drift. Although it's not as nimble as the Terrazi Wildgang, it's one of, if not the best handling starting car for Category 4. Its acceleration is also improved, although its top speed is a smidge lower than the Fiera.

Trivia[]

  • The car's name means "prophecy" in French.
  • In Ridge Racer 6 and Ridge Racer 7, when selecting the car, the announcer will pronounce "Prophétie" as the French "pro-fe-see" rather than the Anglicized "pro-fe-tee". However, in Ridge Racers, when selected, the announcer pronounces it in the Anglicized pronunciation.
  • According to Ridge Racers, this car's engine technology were sourced and co-developed with Kamata. This may be a nod to Renault, Âge's real-life counterpart, that forms an alliance with Nissan and Mitsubishi (which Kamata is ironically also based on).
  • The Ridge Racer Type 4 incarnation of the Prophétie is among a few cars in the series that series mascot, Reiko Nagase, has driven so far in the series. The other cars that she would drive later on are the Assoluto Fatalita (Ridge Racers), Lucky & Wild Evolver (Ridge Racer 3D) and the Lucky & Wild MadBull (also in Ridge Racer 3D).
  • In R4: Ridge Racer Type 4, the "Preset G1" car, available when the player has not chosen any car in the garage's first slot (out of eight), is the Pac Racing Club specification of the Prophétie.
  • The French driver-professor Loran Biranque might be a reference to a real French driver called Alain Prost, a famous F1 driver also nicknamed "Professor", who used to collaborate with Renault during the time he was in the Williams F1 team during the 1990s.
  • The likely reason that PSP-game Propheties onwards have a 5-speed transmission is due to the low cost of production, maintenance, and simplified mechanics. This is a common practice of some sports car manufacturers, such as TVR, which tend to use parts from more popular cars. Something similar happens with the Danver Bayonet.
